The Musée Christian Dior is located in Granville, just 15 minutes from our campsite, it is one of the monuments for which this city is famous. According to the ranking of the women's fashion magazine, Vogue, the Musée Christian Dior in Granville is one of the twelve most beautiful fashion museums in the world. It is therefore the museum not to be missed during your camping holiday.
Villa Dior, called Villa Les Rhumbs is an elegant pink Belle Époque style villa which overlooks the sea and offers a magnificent view facing the Channel Islands, from a cliff. The museum was before the childhood home of Christian Dior, a child of the Granville region, born here in 1905. Now a museum to exhibit his works in his homage and to discover one of the greatest designers of the 20th century in the heart of an English garden, there are many creations and collections by this great couturier.

This museum is a place of memory in homage to the famous couturier Dior since 1997, born here in Granville. It welcomes the public on 3 levels to discover the collections of the couturier. It allows you to retrace her life, from her Norman childhood to the worldwide success of her fashion house.
This childhood home and its garden, now a museum, was a very important source of inspiration for the couturier. Depending on the season, you can discover the summer collection then the autumn-winter collection, the own collection of the museum and the permanent collection. Indeed, several collections are present there and every year a temporary exhibition is renewed. The 2020 exhibition is the exhibition « Christian Dior, itinéraire d'un couturier au travers des collections du musée ». It allows you to retrace the couturier's journey with more than 100 couture models and accessories, photographs, archive documents and personal objets.
In addition to the museum, there are also the magnificent Dior gardens with several parts including a pretty English park. Formerly fitted out by Christian Dior's mother and himself, they were restored around 1930. The couturier also designed some things in the garden such as the pergolas, furniture and the fish pond that can still be seen today in the park. Christian Dior was passionate about gardens and plants ... We often find many flowers such as rose or lily of the valley in these creations because this has always been a source of inspiration for him.
